The stages in each Lawl serve as the battlefields for its characters to fight on, with most characters, if not all, getting a unique stage from the source they originate from.
Stages are usually showcased in their own videos separate from regular movesets. They're shown off one at a time, giving a general idea of the layout, a preview of any stage hazards, and showing off the various music for each stage by playing a small portion of each tune while showing the stage off. A character's stage is usually shown during their Taunts section, and should a character's stage not be shown before their moveset video, this is likely where it'll be introduced.
Very early on, preexisting stages from Brawl were used as the locations for movesets. But after Robotnik's moveset in the Original Lawl, the first stages video was created. This officially showed off custom made stages and formally implemented them into movesets, and has become standard for Lawls since.

Kruel KOs[]
A Kruel KO is a stage mechanic in the Original Lawl that, while specific to execute, ends a match in an awesome or funny way. The requirements of pulling off a Kruel KO are:
- The opponent must be at 120%+ and on their last stock.
- The KO must be the last in the match, i.e. the game-finishing KO.
- The opponent must be KO'd either upwards, downwards or sideways, depending on the stage.
- You must be at less than 120% damage.
So far the only three stages to have their Kruel KOs shown are Meen's Lair, Epic Sax Stage, and Madotsuki's Balcony.
Trivia[]
- In the Original Lawl, Chincherrinas chose to follow the tradition of certain characters in Smash not having a stage; this was the case for Ness and Captain Falcon in the original, both Fire Emblem characters in Melee, and remains the case for R.O.B. as of the most recent entry. The only characters in the Original Lawl without a unique stage so far are Carlos Trejo (possibly sharing Otro Rollo with Jaime Maussan). Weird Al and Codec Snake were also left without stages until Sheev and Grimoire Weiss' movesets, respectively.
